Plan your farewell while you are well, or quietly arrange one for an elderly parent. Document your wishes, lock in today's pricing, and give your family the gift of fewer decisions during a difficult time. Handled with discretion and care.
Planning your own funeral, or arranging one for an elderly parent while they are still well, is one of the most considered gifts you can give your family. It removes the burden of decision-making during grief, ensures your wishes are honoured, and locks in today’s pricing against future inflation. At 1-Funeral Group, we offer pre-planning services that range from simple wishes documentation to fully prepaid funeral arrangements, with everything held in trust until needed.
You decide while you are well what kind of farewell you want, the tradition, the venue, the music, the readings, the food, the people you would want present, the things you would not. Your wishes are documented in a sealed file and shared with the family members you nominate. If you choose, you can also prepay for the service so your family has no financial decisions to make when the time comes.
Many adult children find themselves quietly making arrangements for elderly parents, sometimes at the parent’s request, sometimes independently to spare them the conversation. We handle these arrangements with discretion. If your parent is involved, we guide the conversation gently. If not, we work confidentially with you to record what you know of their preferences and prepare what we can.
Three planning levels, increasing in commitment. There is no pressure to choose the most comprehensive option — many families find the simplest tier gives them the peace of mind they were looking for.
Free, no commitment.
We sit with you (or with your parent, if they wish) and document preferences across every aspect of the funeral: tradition, service style, venue, music, readings, food, photo selection, who to notify, any special requests. The file is sealed and held by us, accessible only to family members you nominate. When the time comes, your family contacts us, we open the file, and we deliver according to your wishes.
No price lock, no financial commitment, no obligation to use 1-Funeral Group at the time of need. The wishes file is yours, and you can request a copy or transfer it to another provider at any time.
SGD 500 deposit, fully refundable within 12 months.
A SGD 500 deposit reserves the service and locks in today’s pricing for up to ten years. The deposit is held in trust and is fully refundable if you decide to change providers within the first twelve months. After that, it remains as a credit toward the eventual funeral cost. Useful for families who want price protection against funeral inflation without full prepayment.
Full payment, funds held in regulated trust.
The complete cost of your chosen service paid now, either as a lump sum or through an installment plan. Funds are held in a regulated trust account managed by independent trustees, entirely separate from 1-Funeral Group’s operating funds. When the time comes, no payment is required from your family. All wishes are documented, all logistics are pre-arranged.
A no-pressure conversation, in our office, at your home, or by phone. We listen to what you have in mind and explain the options. No commitments at this stage. Many people stop here, take time to think, and come back weeks or months later.
We work through the details together. The tradition or format. The venue, whether at a parlour, void deck, or your home. Music preferences. Specific readings, eulogists, or speakers. Food and refreshments. Photo selection. Who should be notified. Any cultural, religious, or personal practices you would like observed. Everything is recorded in a sealed file accessible only to your nominated family contacts.
Wishes documentation only, the deposit-and-reservation plan, or a fully prepaid plan. We will explain the financial considerations of each, and you choose what makes sense for your circumstances.
For prepaid plans, payment is by lump sum, by installments over twelve to sixty months, or by insurance-linked arrangement. Funds are deposited in a regulated trust account with independent trustees. You receive documentation confirming the placement.
We check in once a year, by email or a brief call, in case preferences have changed. Music tastes shift. Family circumstances change. The wishes file is yours to update at any time, free of charge.
Your family contacts us. We open the file, review the wishes, and deliver according to plan. For prepaid plans, no payment is required from your family. For wishes-only or reservation plans, the financial arrangements are settled at that time, with pricing as agreed.
This is critical for prepaid plans, and it is where most poorly-managed pre-paid funeral arrangements fail. Money paid for a funeral that may not happen for years needs to be safe.
If a funeral provider cannot answer questions about trust protection in similar detail, your money is at risk. We are happy to walk through the documentation with you in detail.
Three reasons families consistently mention: removing the burden of decisions from grieving family, locking in today’s pricing against future inflation, and ensuring your specific wishes are honoured. Many people also find that the conversation itself, articulating what they want, brings unexpected peace of mind.
The wishes file is yours and can be updated at any time, free of charge. For the deposit plan, your deposit is refundable within the first twelve months. For fully prepaid plans, you can modify the service level or transfer your funds to another provider. Funds held in trust are not locked to 1-Funeral Group; they are locked to your funeral service.
Wishes files can be transferred to another provider you choose. Funds in the regulated trust remain yours and can be moved to a comparable provider in your new location. Talk to us as early as possible if you are considering relocating and we will guide the transition.
This is the most important question to ask any prepaid funeral provider, and the answer should reassure rather than alarm. Because all prepaid funds are held in a regulated trust account by independent trustees, not by 1-Funeral Group, the funds remain protected even if the company ceases to operate. Trustees would return funds to the family or transfer them to a comparable provider. Your funeral, and your money, are not at risk.
Yes, and many adult children do. We handle these conversations sensitively. Some families bring the parent into the conversation early; others prefer to plan quietly. Both are valid approaches. We can record what you know of your parent’s preferences (faith, language, music they loved, places that mattered to them) so that when the time comes, your family is not making every decision from scratch.
Yes. Some pre-planning conversations are about the kind of farewell you want for yourself; others are about preparing for a relative whose passing may not bring the family together easily. We can document arrangements for both scenarios with equal care.
